From the manufacturer
THE BEGINNING
VP Racing Fuels was founded by Steve Burns, who initially exhibited his aptitude for R&D in the early 1970’s as a young racer in San Antonio, Texas. Self-taught in chemistry and physics, Steve was convinced the race fuel manufacturers of the day were falling short in their quest for optimum horsepower.
To address this shortcoming, he began experimenting with exotic blends of fuel, much to the dismay of his parents whose garage served as Steve’s laboratory. Steve began at the local tracks of Texas, where racers tried his fuel and liked the power gains. His first fuel was christened “C12,” the word spread and Steve’s company was founded as VP Racing Fuels in 1975.
EARLY INFLUENCERS
Early on, Steve met two other young Texans–Buddy Morrison and David Reher—with whom Steve conducted most of VP’s early testing and development. In a symbiotic relationship, the advancements in VP’s fuel technology spawned advancements in Reher-Morrison’s engine development, which in turn spawned more advancements in fuel technology—a continuous circle of technological innovation.
VP’s first official “paying” customer was a relatively unknown drag racer named Warren Johnson, who along with Bob Glidden also contributed greatly to VP’s R&D efforts. Ultimately, each of these individuals won multiple national championships and evolved into household names in NHRA pits around the country, with C12 going on to become arguably the most successful race fuel in motorsports.
VP is now recognized in race fuel technology, with a catalog of more than 80 fuel blends and a growing roster of VP-fueled champions across the entire spectrum of motorsports. The passion and dedication of VP’s development team to staying on the edge of technology is legendary.

Like everyone says, it’s simply the best oil filter.
I value flow over filtration but with this VP oil filter, there are no trade offs. The full synthetic media lets the oil flow with low restriction plus it filters out very fine particles better than cellulose. Also the nylon center core and all the holes on the baseplate contribute to great flow. My 2021 Honda Accord responds quicker (nothing insane but noticeable) and I feel the RPMs lower on the highway. I can tell the difference with this filter compared to the Purolator Boss. Purolators are great filters but I feel they are more restrictive because it only has 8 inlet holes and they are small, the Louvers on the center tube of the Purolator are not opened enough. This VP (Champion) oil filter has about 13. I’m nit picking at this point but if you want the best, this is the filter to get. In the end, it is just an oil filter but you do get what you pay for. If you want the best, this is the one filter.

Made in 🇺🇸 with a blow out, glass media, strong filtration
A review for an oil filter Ok like I’m qualified LOL OK I’ll try.Built with a blowout so not to obstruct the oil flow when you step on it, anti drain back, heavy steel body, strong heat resistant gasket, modern filter medium that allows the filter to remove the steel fileings from 25 to < 4 microns know to cause 99% of the wear. Service life is up to 20, 000 miles! Made by us in the USA. What kinda oil are you running though this thing? 0W40 Synthetic with a bypass filter? 2 people found this helpful

Seems to be built well
Built well. Seems solidly constructed and fit the car. We’ll see how it does on it’s 20,000 life. The price is a few dollars higher than competitive units but delivery met my needs.

The best oil filter.
This filter gave my truck 10-15 more psi! I drive a 08 suburban, and recently had a new oil system installed ,so my pressure was in the normal range to begin with. but this filter raised my oil pressure to a true performance level.

waste of my time and money. Probably can’t even return it because I put fresh oil in it already

Made by Champion Laboratories 🇺🇸
The media could not be loaded.
I bought this VP Racing VP2876 Premium Synthetic Oil Filter for my 2021 Mazda 3 Hatchback. The Oil Filter is made by Champion Laboratories which makes automotive filters. The oil filter is Made in USA! 🇺🇸 It has an silicone anti-drain back valve and many holes 🕳 compared to an OEM Mazda Oil Filter. The pleats have shielding on them which is something you don’t find on a cheaper oil filter. Overall It’s seems well constructed. This oil filter claims it can go 1 year or 20,000 oil change intervals. However, that’s something I don’t recommend simply because, oil changes are cheap and an engine replacement costs thousands.VERDICT: High Quality Oil Filter, Made in USA by Champion Laboratories is always good! Is it worth the premium price tag? Perhaps not, and that’s why it’s one star off for me. If it was, $10 then it would be a great deal. Since it looks better than the Mobil 1 108-A Oil Filter.

Best Oil Filter period! Honda CRV
The best quality constructed oil filter I’ve ever seen and it’s made in the USA which is even better!! The only filter I’ve seen of equal quality is perhaps an Amsoil one and my guess is they are both made by the same manufacturer. Take a peak when you get yours on the inside…bet you don’t see that in even the most expensive store bought brand. Seriously, I’m blown away by the quality and to me for an oil filter I’m willing to spend what this costs as it’s top-of-the-line! The inner filter housing is just as stout as the outside! Silicone anti-drainback valve is top tier…I’m a car mechanical nerd. And yes the synthetic filter media has an amazing filtration level with excellent flow rates going through it. This is a clear winner over anything else on Amazon or at a store. 5 stars easily, blown away by the quality and that’s not easily done for me. Honda CRV is the vehicle it’s going in and hopefully they will make one for the 4Runner soon as well.

Top Tier Filter
I’ve used Amsoil and Royal Purple oil filters since I bought my car. They’ve both been out of stock for many months at this point. I did a bunch of research and found out that this filter is made by the same manufacturer as Royal Purple and K&N. The RP and VP have synthetic media though where as the K&N doesn’t. This filter is an identical match to Royal Purple. Quality filters cost money. Yes this filter is about $5 more than average but for $5 more you’re getting as good as a filter as possible. If you balk at $15 to protect your engine than you might as well let Tire Kingdom put on a junk $2 filter and hope for the best.

BEST FILTER OUT!
I see feedback on how black the oil is after one change, but all oil is black after so many miles and had nothing to do with filtration, goes to show how much people don’t know about how the combustion engine works let alone an oil filter,if u use oil like amsoil sig series u can go the full 20k miles and still get top protection, again the oil filter has nothing to do with coloration regardless of mileage! That’s just stupid!

Good quality product for the price
Contrary to its claims of being able to filter 2 oil changes,(or something to that effect), after only 2500 miles my oil is just as black as other filters at the same interval. I would NOT use this filter for more than one oil change!

Boss level filter
This oil filter is one of the best flowing filters on the market with a micron rating of 99% at 20 microns so even this is has good oil flow that doesn’t come at the price of sub par filtration yeah it’s on the expensive side but it’s a whole lot cheaper than replacing an engine due to damage caused by using bad oil filters

Better than K&N or Mobil1!
I’ve tried just about every filter on the market and so far this is my favorite as far as performance under heavy load, longevity, daily use, and filtration. My car is heavily modified so I’m very picky about what things I use on it but this filter lasts longer than any others so far and keeps the oil very clean!
