Have only had the alternator for five months and it has already stopped working. Replaced my battery, so I know it’s not that. We had the alternator checked and it’s junk. It is now draining the brand new battery I just bought. Very unhappy customer.

Great
Got my truck back to running in about 30min I put over 800 miles on it so far and it actually improved my gas mileage close to 2mpg.It looks like a factory OEM AC delco alternator if it’s not it’s a dang good fakeVery easy to install and so far it works like a charm. Quick tip when installing make sure you knock out the 2 brass bushings before installing. You can set the new one right in.

My truck started displaying a charging system failure message on the dash. I did some quick internet research, learned how to test and diagnose my charging system. Found that my alternator was bad. Called around to all the auto parts stores and some of them had one in stock but they wanted 25% to 50% more for the part. So Amazon had the best price and the savings was worth having to wait a few extra days. My truck is back on the road for less expense on the same quality part.I highly recommend this part and seller.

OEM Alternator
This is the OEM alternator for my 2015 Silverado 5.3l and likely many other GM vehicles like it. It is a direct replacement for the original part, and when the original alternator started making some extra noise around 104k miles I decided to change it out for a new one before it crapped out.This alternator arrived in factory packaging. It bolted right on and the connectors hooked up perfectly. It works just as it should and I expect it to go for another 100k.

The alternator looked new however once installed it quit working the second day.
After install the alternator worked as intended but the second day as I was driving the alternator gauge dropped very low so I pulled over and got my multimeter out and while my truck was running tested it, The meter read barely 12v so I limped back home. I tested the battery which was brand new and it tested 12.5v which was alright then I installed another alternator and my truck has been running great no issues. I suppose that occasionally you can get a bad product however it was frustrating.

Failed within 1200 miles
Ac Delco has always been my go to when replacing parts on my 2016 Gmc 2500 Duramax. I purchased with confidence in OEM parts but I’m not sure if I received a bad one but the bearing has started to fail and is whining inside the unit. I’m now outside my return window by about 3 weeks. Not sure if something can be done but I’m not happy about this

Alternator Pulley Binding
This is to inform everyone that this alternator may have defects. I received one for my 2015 Silverado a few days after ordering it. The box it arrived in was very thin and slightly damaged due to the part sticking out of it at several areas. I took out the part to check for damages, there were none found. Then I tried to turn the pulley to ensure everything was correct. The pulley turned, but it had to be forced to turn, by hand. It should turn freely with no binding at all. I returned that alternator and reordered it. It could be just that particular alternator was defective and hopefully not the next one.

Defective alternator
Ordered alternator for 2015 Chevrolet Suburban with 5.3 engine that was undercharging. After installing it, there was a knocking sound coming from the alternator. I found that the pulley would spin but lock up when it got to a certain spot. It even creates a vibration in the engine when i drive down the road. I contacted Amazon to request a replacement and expected it to arrive Sunday 7/14/2019. Well it didn’t, when I checked the tracking information, it said that the one they received was damaged and they had to return that one also. I haven’t been able to drive my car due to fearing the alternator would go out in the middle of traffic and cause it to shut off. Should have spent the extra money to begin with then this issue wouldn’t have been this big of a deal trying to get a replacement.

The packaging was bad had a cut in the box checked the alternator out the plastic part on the back bottom side was cracked still used it on my Chevy got 14.6 volts out of it once I got in place it worked as it should
